Summary
In this book Ender is the main character and in most of this book Ender spender his time in an army training space station. The space station is a huge ship and is used to teach children about how to defeat the enemy,”the buggers.” In the station they have many rooms and places like the mess hall and all the other places like the class rooms.
They also have huge rooms for groups they have there called armies, in these rooms the armies study, sleep, and do most anything but go to the bathroom and the shower. Except for the commanders, or the “leaders” of the army or group, they have there own room that they use and have all their stuff in, and no one can go in there but the commanders and the special people running the space station. Here Ender faces many hard choices and conflicts.
Also Ender is at the age of only six when he goes to start training and made a commander of his own army at the age of ten but most people have to be at the age of twelve. The armies there aren't like armies we have right now they used their armies for training and practices. But they still gave their army names and uniforms. Ender’s army was Dragon Army, but there were also Salamander Army, Rat Army, and many more so they could still run their operations.
They ran their armies in a zero gravity room in there in space space station it was like a huge glass bowl and had huge obstacles floating around in it for cover from enemy fire. They didn't use real guns because they didn't want to kill anyone, so instead they used special guns and when they shot the enemies suit they froze their suit in the spot that they shot. After Ender completed his training there he got moved to a special planet where he got help from a special man that defeated the first attack of the “buggers.” Soon after that the buggers came back and Ender had to battle them with the new knowledge with his friends from battle school and when they defeated them they destroyed the whole planet that had there queen on it that told everyone what to do and when they killed her it killed the other aliens to because they did not know what to do and they died.
After they thought it was just a pretend simulation but after they got told that it was not fake and that it was real and then Ender got mad and sad that he had done this but after this he found a bugger egg. With that egg he found on the planet Enos he saw a bugger to and the bugger told him it was a queen. So now Ender is searching until he finds a good place for the buggers to live in peace again.

Review
I liked this book because I love imagining new things and fiction things I really liked this book also because it has lot of events. I would rate this book at a five star item because I love all the new events that keep the book interesting and new through the entire story. Different things go on all the time so it never gets boring and I love all the new things that people can come up with. I love stories that are in the future all the ideas of things we might have later, things our grown selfs will have it is cool on how much new things we might be able to have latter. I liked this book because it had a lot of new events coming in and going out while some conflicts stayed in the whole story and some are still mysteries.
The story’s main conflict is about Ender defeating enemies. The story’s exposition begins when Ender has to have his monitor taken away, meaning that he failed a battle school program. He does not let a bully hurt him and later he finds out that this was just another test. The story goes into the rising action when he is taken to the battle school. Ender is tested, trains for battle, sometimes he is alone, and has some fights with other soldiers. The adults say this is all supposed to make him a better leader because he learns how to stop his enemies. Ender says that he loves his enemies when he knows how to defeat them. The climax comes when he must fight the alien buggers. He destroys the bugger’s planet and finds out that it was real. This is the resolution. The falling action is about Ender finding the bugger queen’s egg and searching for a home for it.
The characters in Ender’s Game were larger-than-life. They were very likable and easy to connect to but their stories give them different characteristics. Ender has good leadership skills and is very smart. He can fight and knows how to use strategies in his fighting. Ender knows that his enemies have hot anger that controls them, but he has cold anger that he uses for strategy. He is smart and manipulative like his brother, Peter. Peter is different than him, though, because Peter is very violent. Peter uses his abilities not to protect himself, but to hurt others. Ender does not want to be like him. Their sister, Valentine, is very caring and will not engage her enemies until they attack her. This does not make her a good choice for battle school and is left on earth to battle wits with Peter. Another character in this story is Petra, a girl from Salamander Army that teaches Ender how to shoot, aim, and use more strategies. Petra and Ender stay friends for the whole story. This gives Ender someone to talk to and Petra someone to be friends with because the other boys were jealous of her. Also, Bonzo was the Salamander Army commander and he did not like Petra and Ender to practice and work together. He wanted everyone to listen to his commands and got angry at Ender. His anger made Ender have to defend himself against Bonzo, and led to Bonzo’s death. One of Ender’s few friends was Bean, who was a lot like Ender. They were both social outcasts and Bean was very smart. He helped Ender in the final battle, his simulations, and his mental difficulties.
This book is written from Ender’s point of view. This gives us deep writing because we know what Ender is thinking. There is a lot of logic and psychology in this book, for example, Ender thinks a lot about how to be accepted and respected. We knew about things that were important to him. The reader can also feel how Ender is feeling because the different language can make people feel depressed, happy, or puzzled. The characters were their own people and had different personalities. They all had something to struggle with and dealt with it in different ways. The book shows how our emotions and actions lead us. Their conversations were mostly about buggers, war games, competitions, tests, and command school. They talked about the what-if about if they went back to earth after they defeated the buggers. This shows us that protecting earth and doing well in war games were important to earn respect from other people. Sometimes the conversations showed that the students were still kids and how they needed to be treated. A big part of the writing style in this book comes from the fact it takes place mostly in a war training center in space space. The author describes what it is like to be in zero gravitational pulls and what training feels like and does to kids emotionally, mentally and physically.
Conflicts in this story include being accepted by your peers, or being respected as a leader. Ender and Petra went through this conflict when they were training. They wanted to become leaders and be accepted into command school, but they could not do that if they were seen only as another student and not as a good leader. But at the same time, they were still only children and needed to feel like they were socially accepted before they could have the support and confidence to become leaders. Another conflict is when Ender tries to decide what makes a person who they are. He has a lot of mental conflicts when he tries to decide if he is like Peter or not because of his manipulation and violence. This sometimes makes Ender depressed and he feels like he is a bad person. One more conflict is about loyalty. Ender goes to battle school and stays there because he loves Valentine, wants to protect her, and feels like she is the only one who truly understands it. Meanwhile, he is told to obey his officers. This is hard for him because he wants to be respected and wants to do the best thing for Valentine. I thought these conflicts were realistic because they were about growing up and becoming a person. These ideas are just put into a bigger perspective and a different story.
